Otafest01

Well, I've not had a lot of time for drawing fun stuff lately, but I would like the share the first of my Otafest Chibis: Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid!

Thrown together in about three hours; I like the way her hair turned out, but I don't think I'm going to have time to shade them all nice like this! TnT Ah, well.

Ebon Spire - Len Ref. Sheet

A character reference sheet I created for a contest running on DeviantArt called Ebon Spire. All of the character design/art and text are mine, but I did not create the logo or the background (they were provided for the participants.)

A larger version of the bottom image from the sheet, since I thought it turned out quite well. :)

Another Sketch Dump, My Goodness

Not much to say here. Another batch of original characters. With the exception of Sherlock and Watson up at the top, these are all just random pen doodles.

Oldest OC's

These two are my oldest characters (That I can remember) and I'm still rather fond of them 8'D. The girl is Desmona/Six and the boy is Five, who never received a real name, heh.

Len is a terribly fun character in that he's entirely bendy and rather limitless in how I can pose him. I'd really like to try my hand at animating him someday (When I have time, gah!)

Sketchdump 02/02/09

Man, I really fell on my butt for uploading last month. So here's a big sketch dump.
And I do mean big- It's rather huge. 8|

08/01/09 Dump!

Just playing around in Sketchbook, working on proportions and anatomy and stuff. And then I made it my character, Spin.
Spin again, sitting on a bench. I had a better version of the sketch, but Photoshop wouldn't let me save it. :C
Finally colored a picture of Rude. And here he is, being... Rude. :C

Happy New Year!

This coming year is going to be full of change for me. Graduating class, with either more schooling or my first 'big-person' job on the horizon, I'm excited (and terrified) of what 2009 is going to bring.

Expect big changes with my art as well. I want to improve my anatomy skills (for oh, how they require improvement) and start working a great deal more with color. I also want to finish a lot more pieces.

All in all, it's going to be a busy year. Let's cross our fingers and hope everything goes smoothly (or, at least, mostly smoothly.

Before you ask, no, I'm not quite sure what exactly he is. I was inspired by hearing about someone's halloween costume, being 'a faceless man in a black suit.'

From there he just got weirder. 

Also, it's terribly fun to have a character that is nearly completely silhouette with no facial expressions. It really forces you to consider how your character should be posed to convey emotion.

11/12/08 Sketches

First up, Silas is looking happy about the snow. (The complete opposite of me askjhdgk HATE THE SNOW.)  Just something I threw together in about 10 minutes.

BEAUTIFUL KNEE! (and Silas too)

First off- Rude doing some BEAUTIFUL KNEE!

...Really it's just a pose my brother struck and I told him to hold it. Then rotation, speedlines and BAM! BEAUTIFUL!

NOW THIS! This is what I'm really kinda proud of tonight. I realized earlier today that for some reason none of my characters have foreheads. And they all have really long faces. People seemed to think that this was a stylistic choice on my part.

It was not. :|

So I'm sort of trying to adjust some character designs to include foreheads. Silas, being my wimpy ginuea pig, was up first. These are the most recent tries (the first ones were hastily baleeted due to ULTIMATE SUCK) and by God, I do believe he looks better than ever. (Though input is always appreciated in these things!)

(Also the shirtless image of him turned out pretty good, I think, considering my shaky, shaky grasp on torso anatomy.)
